Denim jacket is very versatile!

Hello🌻

I love wearing my denim jacket in the spring!

It looks great with my new banana republic skirt ❤️ https://samuraihinata.home.blog/2019/03/28/found-it%E2%9D%A4%EF%B8%8Fa-perfect-skirt-from-banana-republic/

I wanted to see if I can create different looks by just changing the skirt.

This was my original outfit.

Then I decided to change the skirt into my black pants. Very similar to the above, but little more sporty especially if I wear trainers (I think).

This one is a bit more fun. You can wear this for girls’ night out🍹 Seeing the photo, I think changing the camisole into black might be nice too.

All three outfits are fun in different ways. I’m always thinking of a way to enjoy fashion without owning too many clothes (shoes & bags also).

Pleated skirt looks cute….but does my bum look big???💦

Hello🌻

Pleated skirts are in fashion (midi to maxi length)!! Well, at least in Japan.

I really like them & I have two in my closet.

I thought about buying a lighter colour one for the spring🌸 so I went to try on a few.

They look so nice, especially how the skirt twirls around your legs. Makes you feel really feminine💕

But don’t you think they make your bum look big??? I always felt that although I like wearing them.

I see some fashion blogs talking about how these pleated skirts make you look slim etc. It is true, they make you look slim from the front, but the bum still looks big from behind💦 Nobody really talks about it though…

When something is in fashion, you want to wear it! But we need to be aware of its flaws too. We need to think about the outfit taking its flaws into account.

Or you can say ‘Who cares about my bum? I still like these skirts✨” & that is fine too. In many ways, when I wear my pleated skirts, I feel like that.

Still, they are very cute😉

I love my mum❤️but…②

Hello🌻

My parents divorced when I was 16 years old.

https://samuraihinata.home.blog/2019/04/04/i-love-my-mum%E2%9D%A4%EF%B8%8Fbut-%E2%91%A0/

My father’s affair with another woman was the cause of it.

I saw my mum crying, throwing things to my dad etc

She was not the mum I knew. She was a woman going crazy losing her mind. I was so shocked…

Mum didn’t want to get divorced because of the children (Me & my brother). But then, my dad insisted and at the end they got separated.

It is all dad’s fault, so I need to be on mum’s side‼️ Poor mum, I need to support her.

I knew this was how I should be thinking and behaving, but I couldn’t deny the feeling of aversion towards my mum.

Why? I should be hating dad…not mum. It is all dad’s fault so I have to keep on loving mum.

I felt so guilty.

What I needed to do was to give mum a hug and say

“It is not your fault. You didn’t do anything wrong. Don’t worry I’ll be there for you to support. I love you”

I knew this would give her a bit of comfort… but I couldn’t.

I was sad about my parents’ separation, but I was struggling with the feeling of guilt towards mum. I was so overwhelmed by the feeling of guilt.

It’s not a very happy and cheerful story to read, but it helps me to write about it. It is like a therapy.

Whatever I say here, I am very happy now.

I love my mum❤️but…①

Hello🌻

Last Sunday was mother’s day in UK🌸 In Japan, mother’s day is in May – same as the American mother’s day.

When I was a child, I never saw my mum as a person. She was a mum👩‍👧 Of course, I love her, but I never even had to think about it. She was always there.

Now I think about it, it is quite something. There is no other person like a mum.

But then, my feeling towards her started to change at some point…. it became more complicated…

When did it change??? If I really think hard, I guess it happened when I was 16yrs old. Around the time my parents got divorced.

At that time, I saw a woman side of my my & I guess I was shocked. Maybe something I didn’t want to see. Of course, my mum is a human & a woman… what was I thinking?

As a teenager, I felt sorry for my mum, but at the same time, I felt a feeling of aversion – something I never felt before…

Can Casoda remove Seborrheic Keratosis? Not too sure…

Hello🌻

I have been trying to remove my seborrheic keratosis using Casoda.

https://samuraihinata.home.blog/2019/02/25/can-casoda-remove-seborrheic-keratosis/

https://samuraihinata.home.blog/2019/03/01/can-casoda-remove-seborrheic-keratosis-update%E2%98%80%EF%B8%8F%EF%BC%91/

https://samuraihinata.home.blog/2019/03/13/can-casoda-remove-seborrheic-keratosis-update%E2%98%80%EF%B8%8F2/

It was going well until I wrote update2…

Once the scab came off, the original skin was still slightly raised and brownish.

After 2 weeks, it still is brownish although not dark brown like before. Also the skin where the plaster was covering is slightly itchy. I’m sure it’ll get better, but I’m glad I didn’t try it with the one on my face😅

There are many blogs (Japanese ones) reporting the success of removing SK with Casoda. However for my case, I’ll give 50points out of 100.

Yes, the colour has gotten lighter for sure, but when you want to remove it, you want to remove completely, No???

I guess people sometimes exaggerate to make the story more interesting, but I want to report what really happened. It is possible that I might have done something wrong, but then it is such a simple procedure, so I’m not sure how I could get anything wrong…

Anyway, always good to try something different😉

Learning to play bridge from scratch – fun play2

Hello🌻

I went for my supervised play session again. Yes we played, played & played!! So much fun & good for your brain😉

I actually played quite well this week, but again made some silly mistakes.

The main one was when I was a defender. I wasn’t paying enough attention to the dummy’s cards & played the suit that the dummy didn’t have anymore. Of course, the declarer could trump me easily💦 What a silly mistake. I will not do that again.

My table was a really nice group though. Happy to make jokes, but also plays seriously. Nobody ever makes nasty comments. I guess that’s the most important manner in playing bridge.

“Don’t slag off each other!!”

I’ve actually started teaching my husband&children how to play, so we play at the weekend sometime. Great family game that we can all enjoy💕

So when do I start investing??? ②

Hello🌻

Continuing from the last talk. How is it that the regular monthly investment plan can help to diversify the risk.

***************

I will try explaining using maths 😉 Using simple numbers & ignoring the commission costs to make it easier to understand.

I’m an UK investor & am going to invest £1000 into FTSE100ETF. There is no currency risk.

Example 1: investing £1000 all at once

January

The unit price of the ETF is £10. I think this is the time to buy so I’m going to invest my £1000 into the market.

I purchase £1000÷10=100units

April

The stock market has gone down! The unit price is now £7. The current investment value is £7x100units=£700 30% loss at the moment💦

I have invested all my money, so I can’t buy anymore… I guess I’ll hold on to it & see how it goes.

May

The stock market has gone back up (phew) The unit price is now £8. The current value is £8x100units=£800 20% loss at the moment.

Example 2 : regular investment of £250/month over 4 months

January

The unit price is £10. I purchase £250÷10=25units.

February

The unit price is £9. I purchase £250÷9=27units.

March

The unit price is £8. I purchase £250÷8=31units.

April

The unit price is £7. I purchase £250÷7=35units.

Total units I hold is 25+27+31+35=118 units

My investment value now is £7x118units=£826 I have made a loss of 17%. Example 1 has the loss of 30%, so this one’s loss is smaller.

May

The unit price is now £8. The current value is £8x118units=£944. 5.6% loss at the moment. Example 1 has 20% loss at this point.

***************

Example 2 has much smaller loss compared to example1. This is how the regular investment plan can help to diversify the market timing risk.

If you are investing the same amount per month, you are able to purchase more number of units when the market goes down.

If you own more units, you can get a benefit of that when the market start to recover.

***************

I hope my maths is correct😉 Anyway, you get the concept!

Regular investment plan can diversify the market risk!!

So when do I start investing??? ①

Hello 🌻

So far, we have decided

  1. Which fund manager/broker to buy ETFs from after researching the fees
  2. Understand the difference between investment & speculation
  3. Decide asset allocation (including speculation)
  4. Decide country allocation

Now, you are ready to start investing. So when do I start???

***************

You can start today, tomorrow or next week. It really doesn’t matter. As long as you don’t put all your money at once!!

The safest way to start investing is to set up a monthly contribution of a set amount depending on the total amount you want to invest for that tax year. In this way, the market fluctuation risk is diversified over 12 months.

But then, I want to buy when the shares are cheap & sell when they are expensive! Yes, of course, we all want to do that.

How do you know when the market is cheap???

We can all look at the past charts and say “This was the cheapest point” That is very easy.

You might think now is the cheapest point, but how do you know if it is not going to get any cheaper from here? Or you could be right and the price might go up from here.

Basically, it is not worth gambling on the market timing. You just don’t know when is the best time to buy. That is why you keep buying over a period of time to diversify the risk.

If you feel strongly against the monthly contirubion idea, then you will be taking more market timing risk. I guess you could spread your purchase timing over 3-4times??

I’m going to explain this concept of diversifying the market timing risk next time. Maybe using some numbers – I will try anyway 😉

My banana republic skirt with casual shoes

Hello🌻

Yesterday’s banana republic skirt….I wore it with more casual shoes to see how it looks.

The outfit is exactly the same as yesterday. I only changed the shoes 😉

Yesterday was with these black heels.

They look very different.

I think the trainers are better for walking around the town.

Also I love wearing white trainers in the spring time🌸 So this outfit is exactly what I want to wear now.

I tried the outfit with the gold ballet flats too.

This is cute too 😀

I try not to own too many clothes, so being able to change the outfit just with shoes like this make me very happy💕 I don’t want to own too many, but I don’t like to feel that I’m wearing the same thing all the time!

I love this skirt!!!

Found it❤️A perfect skirt from Banana Republic

Hello🌻

I found a lovely black tight skirt from Banana Republic website! It was 30% off too😀 https://www.bananarepublic.co.uk/br/belted-pencil-skirt-with-side-slit/000396332.html?dwvar_000396332_color=000396332SP00-13218&cgid=35288#start=3

A black tight skirt can make your look like an office worker sometimes….. but I wanted to wear it casually this year with a pair of white trainers etc. It is not easy to find one that can be worn casually though💦

Finally I found a perfect one. Why do I love this skirt so much 🥰

  1. Depth of the side slit is perfect. Not too deep, but deep enough to give a sexy look. Also comfortable to walk.
  2. Length of the skirt (just below knees). It goes well with heels, trainers, boots & flats (& flip flops in the summer)
  3. Smooth feel of the fabric. Extremely comfortable to wear.
  4. Shape of the waist to the hip. Perfect rounding shape.
  5. Matching belt. It looks really cute, but you can also change it to a normal belt to give a shaper/more sophisticated look.
  6. Except for a very very hot summer day (unusual in England), you can wear it all year around.
  7. Washable!! Yes!!!

I wore it first with my pair of new Clark’s heels💕 I’ve got quite a few different outfit ideas with this skirt, so I’ll upload the photos a bit by bit.

BTW, has the sizing of Banana Republic gotten bigger? I’m sure the size I got this time is 1 to 2 sizes below what I normally get (& my shape hasn’t changed!!)

I guess going down a size is better than up😉
