Putin Magnet

Hello🌻

My daughter came back from her school trip in Russia, and she brought this back for her brother.

President Putin Magnet – does this remind you of James Bond??? A bit??? I love it💖

I’m sure that it has been photoshopped a lot, but he actually looks pretty good for 66 years old.

It is put on our kitchen white board, and my son drew a body. Not bad, I think!

Maybe our prime minister Abe should do something like this with the rising sun flag behind him😉

I love my daughter’s sense of humour.

Warren Buffett – how boring it that???

Hello🌻

This is a comment from my 12 years old son. Definitely not mine😅

We were talking about Jeff Bezos’s, Amazon boss, divorce & the settlement of $35bn. Wow, $35bn… how much money is that really???

We wondered if he was the richest man in the world, and he was in 2018 (at least before the divorce I guess). The second richest man was Warren Buffett, that famous American investor!!!

“Warren Buffett, really??? I didn’t know he was that rich, but how boring is that??? Just investing & making money. He doesn’t create any new products or service. Just investing a lot of money…. So boring‼️”

Yes, my son’s comment. I didn’t see that coming… He is the 2nd richest man in the world – that’s not that boring, is it?

Yes, my boy wants to make something new or create a new service when he grows up. He wants to set up a company and have a lot of fun. Hopefully he can make money along the way.

Yes, full of dreams🌈

My mum would freak out if she hears this. “why doesn’t he want to work for a big company? It is much safer…”

Is it? Is it safer to work for a big company now these days? I used to think that too. But now I see my children and how the world is changing, I don’t really agree with that anymore. Many of us were told ” be a lawyer, banker, doctor, accountant etc You need a security in life”

Is that too idealistic to aim for a job that you love and you can have so much fun with & also be financially well off (or at least comfortable)?

I don’t really know. I don’t even know what jobs will be available when my children grow up. I just hope that they can find something they feel passionate about or they can create a job that they want to do and be happy.

If they can, one of my main jobs as a mother is complete🌸

Boys, be ambitious (yes, girls too)!!!

Lovely fragrant tea from Fortnum&Mason

Hello🌻

I love F&M teas!!

My favourite has always been Royal Blend. Very simple but I’ve always loved it.

Recently I found another beautiful blend. a little unusual one 😉

Fortmason Tea. The name like this, it must be one of their flagship products. I wonder why I never knew??

It’s a blend of Indian & Chinese tea. Beautiful fragrance & original taste. I’ve never drank one like this. All my friends like it 😀

I think loose tea leaf always taste better than tea bags. but if you are going to give it as a gift, teabags may be better. Not everyone is into using a teapot.

Fortmason….highly highly recommended.

My denim jacket outfit with different shoes😀

Hello🌻

I tried my denim jacket outfit with different shoes to see how they look.

This is my original outfit with my clark’s black heels. This looks more formal – maybe good for work.

With my gold ballet flats. Nice outfit for summer☀️(in England!)

Again ballet flats – leopard with a bit of red. I changed the belt to the red one to match the shoes. The deep red colour could be nice for autumn🍁

The last one with the white trainers. I love this one!! Perfect for spring🌸

It was very interesting taking photos like this. Shoes can change the image of the outfit completely!

Makes me want to go to a nice open cafe for coffee!

Shares & Men

Hello🌻

I’m not a big fun of buying individual shares unless I feel strongly about owning a part of a particular company, which is quite rare. I think it is much easier to buy the whole market and own the ETFs.

But then, very once in a while, I feel like buying a particular share.

“DO NOT get emotionally attached to the share you bought!!”

This is my No.1 motto of buying company shares.

When you buy a share, and the share price goes down for whatever the reason. You are very disappointed…. but then you don’t want to give it up. This is the company that you felt strongly about and you really like it. You are emotionally attached – you have fallen in love ❤️

You don’t want to admit that you were wrong. You tell yourself “this must be just a bad blip. I’m sure it is going to turn around and the share price will come back”

Then the price goes down even further…. You think “people are so stupid!! They don’t understand how great this company is. I’m the only one who can tell & they will see later”

Then the price goes down furthermore….”Did I make a mistake??? No it can’t be. Deep inside, he is such a nice guy!!!” oops, sorry, it is not “HE”. It is a share.

Isn’t it like falling in love with a wrong guy by mistake? Same thing. You have fallen in love so you want to believe that he is still the one. You don’t want to admit your defeat💢 You become so stubborn.

Isn’t it better to cut your loss and break up with him when you first realise that something is not quite right? Exactly the same as cutting the loss of the shares you own.

We all make mistakes. It is ok. You are not a loser.

Yes, very once in a while he/share may have a huge come back, but it is a risky bet. If you have any doubt, just cut the loss and get rid of him/it. There are plenty of other fish in the pond (whether they are shares or men😉)

My girlfriend & I used to say

“Men & Shares – don’t be afraid to cut the loss”

Learning to play bridge from scratch – fun play3

Hello🌻

I went to play at the supervised session again. Yes, I am hooked!!!

I played pretty well this time, but one silly mistake again when I was a declarer😅

I was sure that I could get the last 4 tricks & make the contract… but somehow, I played it in the wrong order that I lost the last 3 tricks. I couldn’t believe it 💢 What a silly mistake. I know exactly where I went wrong.

Overconfidence is dangerous!!!

Today’s learning.

“Don’t be too sure. Always double check before you put your card out!!”

Well, you learn from your mistake so it is all good. Sorry partner 💦

I love M&S flowers🌷

Hello🌻

I didn’t get Freddies Flowers last or this week, so I got some from Marks & Spencer. M&S has such lovely flowers – always fresh & nice colours. I think they have the best flowers among all the supermarket.

I got these alstroemeria – love the combination of white & slight pink inside❤️ I got them over 10days ago, but still looking lovely. They looked a bit lonely on its own, so I decided to put them with the tulips that my friends gave me.

Tulips & Alstroemeria go so well together. The combination of white & vivid pink is so lovely.

Yes, spring is here!

The view I see on a rainy day

Hello🌻

It is raining in London today☔️

As I opened my umbrella, this view from my childhood popped up.

When I was a primary school student, my mum used to bring an umbrella to my school whenever it suddenly started raining around 2-3pm. In Japan, children don’t get picked up from school, but they just walk back home on their own from age 6.

As I came to my shoe locker, I saw my umbrella hanging there.

“Mummy brought the umbrella for me!”

But then at some point, I started to feel embarrassed about it. I didn’t want my friends to think that I was such a baby with an overprotective mum.

“I don’t need you to bring an umbrella for me anymore. I am ok”

I told my mum.

I don’t know how my mum felt. Was she sad or was she quite happy that she didn’t have to do that anymore for me…

I need to ask her next time I see her, but I’m not sure if she even remembers about it.

***************

We all have many drawers in our hearts. Once in a while, one of them pops open suddenly.

You look inside, and you find the view that you once saw in the past.

Some of them are sad and dark, and some of them are happy and bright.

Some of the view that I see of my mum are a bit sad… but many of them are kind, gentle and happy.

Sad, lonely, gentle, happy etc…. All of them makes who I am now. All of them are my treasure. Sparkling jewelleries in my life.

Thank you💖

What is going to happen to British £ ???

Hello🌻

So what is going to happen to our currency? All the Brexit saga…can we bet on it and make some money? Wouldn’t that be great?

We will all be billionaires if it was that easy😅

I think

  1. If we leave EU without any deals, no-deal Brexit, £ will crash (at least initially)
  2. If we can leave EU with a deal, £ will go up (at least initially)
  3. If we get an extension from EU, £ will trade within a certain range

I’m sure that you are thinking

“This information is useless. You can’t place a bet based on this prediction”

Yes, you are right. We can’t bet on this prediction.

The truth is we don’t know what is really going to happen with Brexit. No-deal, some deal, 2nd referendum etc…Unless we know that, we just don’t know which way £ will go.

That is why it is so hard to bet on the political issues, almost impossible, really.

Who knew for certain that Donald Trump would become a president? Can you be 100% sure that North Korea will not fire a nuclear missile? In hind sight, we can be clever and say all sorts of things. But the reality is, nobody knows what is going to happen for sure.

Don’t listen to people boasting

“I made money on this and that! I knew that’s what was going to happen, so I made the right call”

Oh well, they were just lucky, and they might not be next time.

That is why diversifying your investment is very important😀 If you have all your investment/asset in UK£, it is just too risky. If you have some in US$, Euro, Japanese Yen etc, at least some of your investment will be protected from the sharp devaluation of £ if it ever happens (I guess it already did happen around referendum time…)

If you still want to bet on Brexit, do it with the amount that you are willing to lose. Yes, you might be rewarded, and that’ll be great!!! But then you might not be… oh well, that’s life.

So going back to the question

“what is going to happen to UK£?”

My answer is “I don’t know” AND you don’t know either😉
